I Do Art

I had to get this off my chest..

I had a telephone interview yesterday, and one of the questions was, “What do you do out a basically normal 9 to 5? What drives you? What is your hobby?” I replied, “I do art.” She responds with a “that’s all?” and I told her that is all. Art entails so much more within 3 words.

As an artist, you strategizing, you are planning, you are creating things, and bring so much into existence that will make people alter the way they think and feel. As an artist, figuring out shows, setting up, and preparing them with deadlines and sometimes strict budgets.

When I do art, I am going to shows, meeting people, greeting them, and working my way towards a sale. When I do art, I going to parties and shows all over, meeting so many amazing people, learning about things that some people do not get to see on a normal. When I do art, I am out on the metro creating, or out anywhere causing stirs of curiosity towards my work. I am planting seeds that I pray to grow in their hearts for them to come back for more. My goal, is to create as much as I can on this world, and to be able to share it with others, and hope to be able to help others as well.

When I do art, I am more than an artist. I am an innovator, a marketer, a socialite, a sales man, a comforter, an activist, a supporter, a performer, and a creator. On top of that, all of it, with a budget and constant deadlines.

So is that all I do? Yeah.. I do art!
